We’ve talked about rotating venues in an effort to spread the love to local businesses, so I talked to folks at Cape Ann Lanes and we are most welcome to meet there:

Thursday, November 5 @ 6:30 p.m.

They have pizza and munchies, soda, beer and wine, and wireless internet (it’s not your parents’ bowling alley). We can have a few lanes and the area behind them – there are lots of tables and chairs. Anyone who is interested can rent some shoes and bowl! Or just come for the fun!

Last Friday Scott Pytlik from the Gloucester Daily Times emailed asking if I was interested in writing a piece about CapeAnnBeerandBlog. he had pitched the idea to editor Ray Lamont and once Ray green lighted it I hammered out the basics.

Scott asked if I could also try to explain the differences between bloggers, message board posters, and online commenting for less web savvy folks.

The first few meet-ups we had at Cape Ann Brewing were great and I’m looking forward to getting more folks involved to collaborate and help each other out over cold adult beverages.

Welcome to the new members who showed up last night for the Block Party Media Pre-Screening at Cape Ann Brewing.  Kalesy, Paul Frontiero, Dewey and Dewette showed up in addition to Cape Ann Beer and Bloggers- Mike Foley, Cathy Tarr, Steve Borichevski, Jay Albert, Sharon Lowe.

Thanks go to Jeremy Goldberg and the staff at Cape Ann Brewing who accommodated all our requests.  Cape Ann Brewing has the perfect layout for our needs.

With the busy month of Block Party/Fiesta/Fourth Of July ahead of us we will look to another meet-up in about a months time unless someone wants to call a quickie audible.

Sharon is looking for a couple of your Gloucester pics to be included in the Community Gloucester Slide Show At The First Block Party coming up this Saturday. Any of your pics would be greatly appreciated.

The consensus is that we should make Cape Ann Brewing Headquarters with a venture out to different locations on occasion.

The place just feels right with the long benches and open spaces to mingle about.

The Cape Ann area has been reluctant for some reason to embrace this technology but it is an incredibly usefull communication tool.
